Nokia 9's key specs appear on FCC certification website

Nokia entered the smartphone market this year and has garnered fair response from the industry experts. The company launched handsets across various budgets and Nokia 8 was the flagship among them. With the new year coming, Nokia has already a couple of handsets in the pipeline.

The company's 2018 flagship smartphone, expected to be called Nokia 9, has received the US FCC (Federal Communications Commission) certification.

As per the FCC listing, the Nokia 9 has a model number TA-1005 and is codenamed Avatar. The handset has a 5.5-inch OLED display from LG. It features a dual-rear camera setup of 12MP+13MP. On the front, there is a 5MP snapper, which incidentally is lower than the Nokia 8's 13MP front facing camera. The handset is backed by a 3250mAh battery with fast charging support and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. Running on Android 8.0 Oreo, it has 128GB external storage support.

The RAM and display aspect ratio of the device are still not known, but we feel that given the obsession with the bezel-less display, Nokia 9 will have 18:9 aspect ratio.

The Nokia 9 appeared in a render video, that showed that the handset will have a new design with a small capsule rear camera. The front has dual curved screen. The bottom houses a USB Type-C port, which is the only port seen in the handset. This means HMD will be ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack with the Nokia 9.

The Nokia 9 is expected to launch on January 19, along with the 2018 version of Nokia 6. Both the smartphones received TENNA certification. This certification is mandatory for handsets to be released in China. According to a report by NokiaPowerUser, the Nokia 6 (2018) is expected sport a 5.5-inch screen with 18:9 resolution display. Apart from this it will also feature "dual-lens camera or may be just the Dual-Sight aka Bothie feature." As for the processor, the device is said to be powered by Snapdragon 630 processor paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
